Make a Christmas Addition Tree

What You Need:

  • Cardboard (try reusing an old cereal or packing box)
  • Green construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Clear drying, non-toxic glue
  • Markers or crayons
  • Sequins
  • Glitter

What You Do:

  1. Cut the cardboard into a large triangle, Christmas tree, shape.
  2. Place the cardboard shape on top of the green construction paper and trace. Cut the green triangle out.
  3. Decide how many addition problems to include. Cut a flap into the construction paper for each problem.
  4. Fold the flaps up and glue the remaining paper to the cardboard Christmas tree shape.
  5. Use a bright or dark marker to write addition problems (without the answer) onto the top of the flap. Pick each flap up, and write the answer on the underlying cardboard.
  6. Decorate the tree with glitter, sequins and glue!
